Every year the Air Force Academy Society of Washington DC (AFASW) remembers and honors all members of the ‘Long Blue Line’ who passed away in the preceding year. The ceremony is usually held at the Air Force Memorial on graduation day in May and includes a “Roll-call” for each member with prayer, wreath laying, prayer, music and a speaker. Unfortunately, our 2019 event was cancelled due to weather. Since 2020, we have worked with the AOG to create a virtual memorial cerememony accessible to all Graduates, not just those in the DC area.
This year, AFASW and AOG invite all USAFA graduates, family and friends to a virtual Memorial Ceremony honoring all cadets and graduates who have passed over the last year. This year has been especially hard in the number of deaths, whether deaths in the line of duty, natural illnesses, or now with COVID.
We will be using a virtual platform run by the AOG called ZoomieBrief. We will post a registration link for this event soon. You will need to register to access this year’s event, though you will not need to create an account, nor download any special software.
Time: May 31st 2021, 1200 MST/1400 EST
Place: Register here https://alumlc.org/usafa/8477
